After School Progams
MONSIGNOR CLARKE AFTER- SCHOOL KARATE PROGRAM
It’s time to register for the After-School Karate Program. This session will meet on Tuesdays – from 2:45-3:45pm. On meeting dates, students will report directly to the cafeteria. The cost of this six-week session is $30.00 per student.
The instructor, Chick Gavitt, owner, of Ichiban Karate Studio, has been providing quality instruction in Karate and the Martial Arts in the Wakefield area since 1991. Kyoshi Chick Gavitt, a 7th degree Black Belt, holds a BA in education and is a certified teacher with the RIDOE. This quality program will provide students with a safe and controlled environment where they can learn many basic skills. In addition, the classes will reinforce values such as self-respect, respect for others, discipline, and self confidence.
Students will need to be picked up promptly at the cafeteria at the end of each class by an adult who can sign for the child’s release from the program.
This program is sponsored by Monsignor Clarke School. Scholarships are available. Please see Principal Paula Bailey for information regarding scholarships.
This class is limited in size, so please register as soon as possible. To register, please complete the form below and return with payment to your child’s teacher. Please make checks payable to Monsignor Clarke School.

Sewing / Quilting Class
I am offering another quilting/Sewing class beginning Wednesday April 8,2009. It will be going for 8 weeks, the dates are listed below. The class cost $100 and is on a first come hope your children are looking forward to the Quilting/ Sewing Class. Class will begin at 3:00pm and end at 5:00pm.We will be making a lap quilt which is approximately 36” by 48”. I will be supplying all the materials. Please bring a snack. Talent Night 2009
May 29, 2009 at 7 PM
Student in grades 4 through 8, come out and show off your talent on Talent Night! All acts are welcome including singers, dancers, musicians, actors, comics, martial artists, etc.
· All participants must sign up by May 13, 2009
· Final acts must be approved by May 18, 2009
· The program will go to print on May 22, 2009. There will be no changes or additions after that date.
· There will be 4 rehearsals for Talent Night. Although you are not required to attend all rehearsals, you must have your act approved at one of the rehearsals. Mrs. Russell will be available at rehearsals to help dance acts. Rehearsal dates are:
May 7th, May 11th, May 13th, May 18th
· Please bring your own CD player to rehearsals.
· You must have your act practiced, organized and approved by the May 18th deadline.
· Dress Rehearsal: Wednesday May 27th at 6:00 PM
· Each student may only participate in one act.
· Each participant must complete and return the attached form (please include email address).
